Back on Netherlands' squad after controversy

Gravenberch found himself back in Netherlands squad after being excluded for some time due to controversy surrounding his decision not to represent under-21s last September. He chose instead to use this international break period for settling into life at Liverpool - a decision that did not sit well with Oranje manager Ronald Koeman.

Koeman admitted holding a grudge against Gravenerch’s decision during October’s round of fixtures which led to an expulsion that ended only by November but without selection for him while injury ruled him out of March’s international break.
