OneGate Media has announced that it will distribute the globally acclaimed Bayern Munich documentary, FC Hollywood. The series, co-produced by ZDF and btf, has already garnered significant attention in Germany with over six million views on ZDF Mediathek.

The five-episode series provides an in-depth look at the Bundesliga football club from 1996-2001. This period marked a pivotal time for the club as it rose to become one of Europe's most successful football teams. However, this success was not without its challenges as the team also grappled with internal disagreements.

FC Hollywood offers viewers a unique perspective on this era through never-before-seen archive footage and exclusive interviews with key players and journalists who were closely associated with the team during this time.

The documentary features interviews from renowned players such as Lothar Matthäus, Jürgen Klinsmann, Mehmet Scholl, Mario Basler, and Stefan Effenberg. Additionally, insights from journalists including Reinhold Beckmann, Patrizia Riekel, and Marcel Reif add depth to the narrative by providing their first-hand experiences and observations about the team's dynamics during these years.

The production of FC Hollywood was supported by Film- und Medienstiftung NRW along with FFA German Motion Picture Fund. Stepan Arapovic led production alongside Philipp Käßbohrer and Matthias Murmann while Nicolas Berse-Gilles directed it. Markus Brauckmann teamed up with Simone Schillinger and Florian Nöthe for writing duties.

This collaboration resulted in a compelling series that not only captures an important phase in Bayern Munich’s history but also delves into behind-the-scenes drama that shaped its future.
