The new deal of Saran Media will run through the end of 2028

Saran Media Group, a leading Turkish media operation, has secured the rights to UEFA national team soccer tournaments within the Turkish territory for the 2024-2028 cycle. This significant acquisition adds to Saran's growing portfolio of major rights deals with several European leagues.

The agreement between Saran Media Group and UEFA, the governing body for European soccer, is comprehensive in its coverage. It includes rights to a variety of tournaments and matches that span from 2024 to 2028. Specifically, Saran has acquired rights to the UEFA Nations League editions of 2024-25 and 2026-27, as well as the Nations League Finals in both 2025 and 2027.

Additionally, this deal covers the European qualifiers for two major tournaments: the FIFA World Cup matches in 2026 and the European Championship in 2028. Furthermore, it also includes international friendly matches that occur within this timeframe. This deal provides Saran with exclusive rights across all existing platforms within Turkey. This means they have sole control over live broadcasts, delayed telecasts, highlights packages, and clip rights on TV as well as online and mobile platforms.

Expanding portfolio

In addition to securing UEFA national team rights in Turkey, Saran Media Group recently announced two exclusive multi-year media rights deals covering English soccer’s Premier League (EPL) and knockout FA Cup matches. These agreements extend across various Eastern European and Central Asian territories including Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan among others.

The EPL partnership is an extension that runs from the season starting in 2025 through till end of season in 2028. It covers countries such as Belarus, Georgia Kazakhstan Kyrgyzstan Moldova Tajikistan Turkmenistan Uzbekistan.

Partnership with French Football's LFP body

In May earlier this year, Saran entered into a five-year media rights management agreement with French soccer's LFP body which will significantly expand its sports broadcasting portfolio beyond England's shores into France's footballing landscape.

Under this agreement, Saran has been granted exclusive management of media rights for top-tier Ligue 1 games along with second-tier Ligue 2 matches. In addition to these leagues, the Trophee des Champions games are also included under their purview. This deal extends across 18 Central Asian and Eastern European markets and is set to run from the beginning of the upcoming season in 2024 through till end of season in 2029.

The acquisition of UEFA national team rights in Turkey by Saran Media Group marks a significant milestone for both parties. It not only strengthens Saran's position as a leading sports broadcaster but also ensures that fans across Turkey and beyond have access to high-quality coverage of their favorite soccer tournaments. These recent deals with UEFA, EPL, FA Cup, and French LFP body demonstrate Saran's commitment to bringing top-tier football action closer to fans across different territories.
