Paul Pogba has publicly backed Rashford, criticizing Manchester United for their alleged unfair treatment

Barcelona is on the brink of confirming the arrival of Marcus Rashford, following a successful loan agreement with Manchester United. The latest updates from both UK and Spain indicate that a deal has been struck for the 27-year-old attacker to join Barcelona. As part of this season-long loan, there is an option to buy, which is believed to be in the region of €30-35m.

The focus on acquiring Rashford intensified over the last week after a mixed summer in the transfer market for Barcelona. The club had previously pursued deals for Nico Williams and Luis Diaz but eventually set their sights on Rashford. Rashford will serve as cover for Raphinha on the left side of Barcelona’s attack. He is expected to arrive in Catalonia soon, complete his medical examination, and sign all necessary documents over the coming days to finalize his switch. Barcelona manager Hansi Flick remains hopeful that he can include Rashford in his squad for their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea. However, this remains uncertain at this stage.

Despite grappling with ongoing financial issues, Barcelona appears willing to finance a move for Rashford. Reports from The Times suggest they will cover his full £325k per week wages as part of this loan agreement.

Pogba's support amidst controversy

Rashford's departure from Manchester seemed inevitable since early summer; however, it hasn't been without controversy. His former United teammate Paul Pogba has publicly supported him amidst claims that Manchester United treated him unfairly throughout his tenure there.

Paul Pogba, AS Monaco midfielder, said:

“This is a crazy situation. But, I‘m happy for him because they took away his number in Manchester. Manchester United are losing a great player. Unlucky for them.

“It’s great for Barcelona to be honest. I’m not even talking about United, because they’ve bought a few new players and the new manager wants to do his thing I guess. ''

Pogba recently returned to football following a ban by joining AS Monaco. The Frenchman believes that Red Devils' treatment towards Rashfield was unjustified throughout their time together at Manchester United.

The Rashford transfer saga continues to unfold, with the player set to make a significant move from Manchester United to Barcelona. Despite the controversy and financial implications, both clubs and Rashford seem ready for this new chapter. As sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts keep a close eye on these developments, it will be interesting to see how this move impacts Barcelona's performance in the upcoming season.
