O2 TV have also snapped rights to cover Fortuna Liga for next 5 seasons

O2 TV, a pay-TV service provider, has secured the rights to cover Czech football's MOL Cup matches for the next five seasons. This new deal marks a significant shift in domestic coverage of the knockout competition, which was previously held by Česká Televize.

The agreement will see O2 TV take over from public-service broadcaster Česká Televize as the primary domestic partner of the MOL Cup. The transition is set to begin with the start of 2024-25 season and will run through 2028-29.

The last edition of the MOL Cup saw Sparta Prague emerge victorious against Viktoria Plzeň in an exciting final showdown. With this new deal, fans can look forward to experiencing future matches and victories on O2 TV. In addition to covering the MOL Cup, O2 TV has also secured rights for top-tier Czech Fortuna Liga matches through a separate agreement reached last November. This means that sports enthusiasts can enjoy comprehensive coverage of both knockout competitions and league matches on one platform for five seasons.

Betting streaming rights & sponsorship deals

Over recent months, international betting streaming rights for top two Czech leagues have been acquired by Pragosport agency. Furthermore, betting company Chance has been named as title sponsor for these competitions over next five seasons.

Owned by Tipsport, Chance will invest CZK250 million ($10.5 million) per year into these leagues from 2024-25 until 2028-29 season cycle. This sponsorship deal signifies a changeover from previous title sponsor Fortuna who had held this position since 2018-19 season.

Exciting future plans

In early June this year, the governing body of the Czech league initiated a tender process for rights to produce highlights and short-form clips from top-tier league matches over next three seasons. This move indicates an effort to enhance fan engagement and provide more accessible content for sports fans.

These developments mark a new era in Czech football broadcasting. With O2 TV's comprehensive coverage, Pragosport agency's betting streaming rights, and Chance's sponsorship deal, fans can expect an enhanced viewing experience in coming years.
