Goalitos, produced in Spanish, English and Arabic, follows the journey of three animated characters - Rafa, Luna & Max - who dream of becoming top football players

LaLiga, the Spanish football league, has partnered with WSC Sports to launch its first original children's series titled "Goalitos". The innovative animated project is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and aims to engage the next generation of fans through multilingual, cross-platform content.

The Goalitos series introduces a new model for original sports content. It leverages generative AI technology from WSC Studios - the human-led, AI-powered media and IP studio within WSC Sports. This enables scalable storytelling in multiple languages and cross-platform distribution designed to build long-term engagement with younger fans.

The series will be distributed weekly across LaLiga broadcasters, the league’s own channels as well as digital platforms like YouTube. This ensures that it reaches a wide audience base while maintaining consistent engagement.

Power of artificial intelligence

Artificial Intelligence underpins every aspect of this creative venture. From narrative development based on sports data to automated highlight generation and full-body character animation - everything is powered by WSC Studios’ proprietary Large Sports Model.

The series also boasts a range of other key features. It uses fine-tuned text-to-speech models that are based on the licensed voices of real child voice actors, ensuring an authentic and engaging listening experience for young audiences. The production is multilingual, catering to a global audience and enhancing its reach.

Auto-cropping and platform repurposing capabilities ensure that the content is optimized for various platforms, while dynamic graphic adaptation allows it to be visually appealing across different mediums. Furthermore, automated translation, dubbing and localisation systems are employed to maintain cultural relevance and narrative consistency across all markets worldwide.

These features ensure cultural relevance while maintaining narrative consistency across global markets.

Meet Rafa, Luna & Max

Produced in Spanish, English and Arabic languages; Goalitos follows three animated characters - Rafa, Luna & Max who aspire to become elite football players in reality. Each five-minute episode blends LaLiga news with dynamic educational segments tailored specifically for young audiences.

Published every Friday; these episodes are not just entertaining but also interactive. They include clips, teasers, vertical content and app integrations. To make it more engaging for the young audience, the series also incorporates interactive elements such as challenges and quizzes.

Jorge de la Vega, general director of business at LaLiga, said:

“At LaLiga, we have been committed to technology as a strategic driver of transformation for years. With Goalitos, we are taking it a step further: we are using artificial intelligence to create educational, engaging content specifically designed for a young audience, conveying the values of sport in a format tailored to them. We want to be pioneers in the industry by offering a space dedicated to young people, with the highest quality and the backing of leading technology partners,”

LaLiga's Goalitos is a pioneering step in leveraging AI technology to create original sports content that resonates with younger audiences. By combining entertainment with education and using AI for scalable multilingual storytelling, LaLiga and WSC Sports are setting a new benchmark in sports broadcasting. This innovative approach not only enhances fan engagement but also paves the way for future collaborations between sports leagues and technology companies.
