The Premier League's edition of the West London Derby could well be the game of the weekend. Brentford have been a breath of fresh air since their promotion. They play a direct, exciting brand of football and have a stadium packed with atmosphere. It's a testament to how well Thomas Frank's side have done that only four points separate these two teams. Fans could never have hoped for such a blistering start as The Bees sit 7th going into this match. They are unbeaten in their last four in all competitions including a 7-0 thrashing of Oldham in the EFL Cup and a thrilling 3-3 draw with Liverpool.
Brentford love to score goals and excite their fans but this may be their biggest challenge yet in that department. Chelsea predictably have the best defensive record in the league, only equalled by title rivals Man City. They've also banged in 15 goals already with only Liverpool scoring more. Tuchel has created a monster and with the addition of Romelu Lukaku this team looks extra formidable this season. Recent 1-0 defeats to Man City and Juventus were expunged from memory with a routine 3-1 win over Southampton last time out. The Bees will need to keep things extremely tight at the back and try to use their pace to steal something on the counter, a strategy which could lead to delirium or depression in the stands.
Tuchel's side will however be concerned by the possible absence of the aforementioned Lukaku and Antonio Rudiger who are carrying slight injuries and therefore didn't feature for their countries during the international break. Thiago Silva will also be arriving late as part of the South American contingent. Brentford will be without Josh Dasilva and may also be missing Vitaly Janelt and Kristoffer Ajer.
