Scott issued a warning to Carragher to show up physically if things repeat

Jamie Carragher, the Liverpool legend, has received a stern warning from Malik Scott, the boxer boyfriend of Kate Abdo. The warning comes in response to a controversial joke made by Carragher at the couple's expense.

The incident occurred earlier this month when Carragher was covering Arsenal's Champions League match against Porto for CBS Sports. During the broadcast, he jokingly questioned Abdo's loyalty towards her boyfriend, former boxer Malik Scott. This left his fellow CBS Sports crew members - Thierry Henry and Micah Richards - in stunned silence.

Carragher said: "You [Henry] can wear it next and for the last part you [Abdo] have to wear it!" When Abdo refused to wear the shirt citing her loyalty, Carragher retorted: "To who?" As Abdo confirmed Manchester United as her allegiance, Carragher interjected with: "Not to Malik!"

Things still hot with Scott towards Carragher

While this ordeal was quickly resolved after a swift response from the broadcaster towards the former footballer, it did not end there. In an interview with Lord Ping following this incident, Malik Scott spoke out about his feelings regarding Carragher's comments.

Scott expressed that he was irritated by what transpired on air and warned that things could have escalated if they hadn't been addressed promptly. He revealed that while an apology had been issued by the Liverpool legend to both Abdo and their entire team at CBS Sports; he took issue with what he described as 'obnoxiousness' displayed by him during his delivery of the controversial joke.

Boxing trainer, Scott Malik, said:

"It was a very minute thing, but her being irritated by it a little bit is what really got to me. Him just saying it and being that guy who always makes those picking at you jokes wasn't really a big deal to me at all.

"It's only a big deal if Kate is upset. If Kate gets upset then it's a really big deal to me and I'll give him a call and if he doesn't pick up my call, then I’ll show up in a physical manner so we can talk like men, so that's not something you should continue to do."

Deontary Wilder's former trainer revealed his limitless love for Abdo

Scott is no stranger to standing up for what he believes in or those whom he loves. Having previously trained ex-WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder; his fighting spirit is well-known. He openly expressed his love for Abdo and stated that he would have gone to great lengths to defend her honour.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respect in all interactions, whether they are on-air or off. While jokes can often lighten the mood, it's crucial to ensure they don't cross boundaries or offend others. As sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts, we should remember that our words carry weight and can impact those around us significantly.

While Carragher's joke may have been intended as light-hearted banter; it ended up causing discomfort and irritation. It is a lesson for all - respect should always be at the forefront of our interactions.
