This crossover fight is the most awaited fight of the year

It's finally time to close Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou's online fight of a year in the ring. It was sidelined for a very long time, due to Fury's contract with the UFC terminating in  2023. Fury has been granted permission by the WBC to freeze his heavyweight title while he handles business against Ngannou.

Currently holding the WBC heavyweight title, Tyson Fury will face Francis Ngannou on October 28. The bout will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is expected to place at 10 pm BST.

Tyson Fury reflected his views on the fight saying:

"He's on my hit list in an exhibition fight, however he wants it: in a cage, in a boxing ring, boxing gloves, UFC gloves, we can make it happen. I think everyone wants to see it.

"He's a monster of a guy, I'm a monster of a guy, so it will be a clash of the titans for sure."

The rumors say that the fight can bring more money than what he would have received if he fought IBF, WBA & WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed championship.

Francis Ngannou also added:

“I’ve been waiting to meet Tyson in the ring for the past three years.

"My dream was always to box, and to box the best. After becoming the undisputed MMA Heavyweight Champion, this is my opportunity to make that dream come true and cement my position as the baddest man on the planet."

What to expect?

In this crossover fight, Fury's WBC belt will not be at stake, but the result will impact both players' profiles.

With the exception of  the contentious draw  with Deontay Wilder in 2018. There hasn't been a heavyweight who has defeated Fury in 34 professional bouts. He also holds the title of The Ring magazine twice after making history in the ring.

Fury is known for his god-gifted physique and speed, which give him the edge in a heavyweight fight. He will fight against Ngannou, who does not have the best record, but is confident of beating Fury with the world record of having the strongest punch in history.

Nevertheless, he is confident that he can change that and become the biggest star in the ring. The question is whether that advantage can overcome Fury's speed and experience.

Where to watch in UK?

There will be a live broadcast of the fight on TNT sports. A live feed of the action will be available via the TNT Sports Box Office app, which can be downloaded to your smartphone or tablet. Tickets for the event may cost up to £29.95. The PPV for the event is yet to be disclosed by the broadcasters.

Prediction

Ngannou's confidence and power are all he has in his arsenal against Fury, who is better with technique and physique and has exposure Ngannou lacks.

Until Ngannou brings more frequency to his jabs and head movement than he did before, he won't be able to defeat Fury's counterpunches. The 28th of July will be filled with unexpected twists and turns in the ring, so stay tuned for this match.
