Foxtel Group has been home to IPL since its inception in Australia

Following a deal struck between Foxtel Group and the BCCI, Foxtel Group will remain a partner in the Indian Premier League for a minimum of five more seasons. Foxtel will exclusively broadcast matches from the IPL on its Fox Sports linear channels and Kayo Sports mobile app.

For the last 15 years, Foxtel has been the home of the Indian Premier League and the new deal closes down any possibility of any other broadcasters sneaking into the world's biggest cricket league.

Speaking on this deal, Rebecca McCloy, Foxtel Group Commercial Director said:

“The Tata IPL changed the game more than fifteen years ago and boasts a premier product that attracts intrigue and interest from cricket fans all over the globe.”

“This extended partnership with the Tata IPL compliments and bolsters our already unrivalled cricket offering for subscribers – with fans able to watch all of the big games in one place on Fox Sports.”

Fox Sports has one of the biggest cricketing portfolios at the moment in the world

There is no doubt that Fox Sports has emerged as one of the biggest cricket hubs in recent years and this is especially true in Australia, where Fox Sports holds rights to almost all the marquee cricket events.

They currently host all home matches of Cricket Australia's men's and women's teams, as well as the Big Bash League and the Women's Big Bash League, which are part of their impressive portfolio.

Also, Fox Sports is home to English Cricket, South African Cricket, New Zealand Cricket, and Pakistan Cricket.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has started off with a bang and so far has attracted a big audience for broadcasters. With more matches still to be included on the IPL schedule over the next few years, Foxtel Group has surely made the right decision by extending their partnership for another five years.
