"Real Madrid: Until The End" will follow the 2021-22 campaign of one of the biggest superpowers in world football
Former Real Madrid star and current Inter Miami owner David Beckham will star in a new Apple TV+ docuseries following the triumphs of his former club's 2021-22 campaign, which saw them win La Liga, the Supercopa de España and the UEFA Champions League.
The feats of Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, Casemiro and the rest of the glittering Los Blancos squad of last season will be documented in a three-part series, presented by Beckham, whose first episode will be available on the streaming service on March 10th.
Apple TV+ described the series as follows:
“Fueled by their fervent fans, they defy the odds and sceptics on their way to one of the most memorable finishes in football history, culminating in a record 14th Champions League title”.
Former Real Madrid, Manchester United and England star David Beckham said:
“The path to a 14th title has never been steeper, many doubted it but not this coach, not these players and definitely not these fans. This is no ordinary club, this is Real Madrid”
Apple TV+ falling in love with soccer
Apple TV+ continues to invest in football, or soccer as it's known stateside, with this documentary series joining the ranks of "Super League: The War for Football", another docuseries based around the beautiful game, which was released on the platform earlier in 2023. That project told the story of the doomed European Super League project, which saw some of the world's richest clubs attempt to band together and leave the rest behind.
These documentaries continue to build on the momentum generated by the hugely popular and Emmy award-winning Apple TV+ comedy series "Ted Lasso", which can be credited with introducing many Americans to the sport known everywhere else in the world as football, but to them as soccer.
So intrigued by the world of football is Apple TV+ that it recently agreed a groundbreaking 10 year broadcast rights deal with Major League Soccer (MLS) and is said to be planning to bid on the lucrative domestic rights of the English Premier League during the next rights auction.
This Real Madrid docuseries is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Apple TV+'s interest in football/soccer.
