Rosenior prioritizes bolstering defence and considers it timely to recruit Kim Min-Jae from Bayern Munich

Chelsea manager, Liam Rosenior, has reportedly requested the club to sign a €30m Bayern Munich player in an attempt to salvage the rapidly unravelling season. The Blues are currently struggling with their Champions League qualification spots feeling increasingly out of reach.

Following the sacking of Enzo Maresca, Chelsea has managed to secure only one point from two games. Unless Rosenior can drastically turn things around, this season is set to be another disastrous campaign for the Blues. This trend seems consistent since Clearlake-Boehly took over ownership of the club.

Fan anger towards the ownership is escalating due to what many perceive as poorly thought-out transfer policies. There are growing calls for a change in these stubborn ways if there is any hope for improvement.

Rosenior’s challenge ahead

Rosenior faces a daunting task ahead given his lack of top-level experience. Questions abound regarding his suitability for such a high-pressure role and whether he might be just another BlueCo flop waiting in line for dismissal.

However, if there is any chance that Rosenior's appointment will yield long-term success, reinforcements are necessary. It appears that he has already identified weaknesses within his squad that need addressing urgently.According to Fichajes reports, Rosenior sees strengthening defence as a priority and believes now would be an opportune time to bring in Kim Min-Jae from Bayern Munich. The South Korean centre-back isn't getting regular playing time at Bayern Munich and could benefit from a change of scenery at 29 years old.

Min-Jae was named Serie A defender of the year in 2023 but hasn't found similar success since joining Bayern Munich. Despite getting starts with Bavarians occasionally, he isn't considered an indispensable starter by any means. His transfer price of around €30 million is deemed reasonable, making him a viable option for Chelsea.
