Cole Palmer’s illness has created big headache for Pochettino

Chelsea Football Club has encountered a significant setback ahead of their crucial match against Arsenal on Tuesday. The team's star player, Cole Palmer, is a major doubt for the game after missing Monday's training due to illness.

Palmer has been instrumental in Chelsea's performance this season. At just 21 years old, he has scored an impressive 23 goals and provided 13 assists across all competitions. His outstanding performance places him as the Premier League's joint top scorer alongside Manchester City's Erling Haaland with 20 strikes.

However, his absence from training due to illness raises concerns over his participation in the upcoming match against Arsenal. When asked about Palmer’s chances of playing, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino said, "We will see tomorrow."

Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino, said:

"We will assess him in the morning. Today, no I don't believe he can be involved but we will assess him tomorrow. Even if he is good tomorrow, maybe he's not in a condition to play. Hopefully, he can recover as soon as possible."

Blues also have other injury concerns in the bank

In addition to the uncertainty surrounding Palmer’s availability, full-backs Ben Chilwell and Malo Gusto are also doubtful for Tuesday’s clash after sustaining injuries during Chelsea's recent FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City.

The pair picked up knocks during Saturday’s game which ended in a narrow 1-0 loss for Chelsea. Their potential absence could further weaken the team ahead of their important face-off with Arsenal.

Mauricio Pochettino added:

"Malo suffered a minor injury of the ligament on his knee, I'm not a doctor but I show respect trying to translate what is going on. Chilly after the national team it is the same problem he suffered in the last few weeks."

Chelsea face major battle against time

Currently sitting ninth in the Premier League table, it is a critical time for The Blues who have found some much-needed form recently by going unbeaten in their last eight games. With only seven more matches left this season, Pochettino is eager for his side to finish strongly despite these setbacks.

The upcoming match against title challengers Arsenal presents an opportunity not only to climb up the league standings but also demonstrate resilience amidst adversity.

The next few days will be crucial for Chelsea as they prepare for their clash with Arsenal. The team's fans, as well as sports betting enthusiasts, will be eagerly waiting to see how these developments impact the game.
