BBC unveils Sir Alex Ferguson documentary and podcast

The special documentary on legend manager will air in early 2025

BBC Sport and BBC Scotland have announced the production of "Sporting Giants: Sir Alex Ferguson," a two-part documentary that delves into the life and career of the legendary former Aberdeen and Manchester United manager. The documentary, set to air in early 2025, will be accompanied by a podcast series that further explores his impact on football.

The documentary promises to provide an intimate look at Sir Alex Ferguson's life both on and off the field. It features first-hand accounts from numerous former players, adversaries, colleagues, and friends who worked closely with him during his illustrious career.

Notable contributors include Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Gordon Strachan, and Sir Kenny Dalglish. These key figures share their unique insights into what made Ferguson one of football's most respected figures.

Exploring his early years at Manchester United

The second part looks at the post-1999 period with contributions from Nemanja Vidic, Michael Carrick Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand among others. This era marked significant changes for both Ferguson himself as well as for Manchester United.
