The streaming giant has released presale subscriptions for its new venture with the National Football League

YouTube have begun releasing presale passes for their new Sunday Ticket packages and fans can snap up every Sunday game of the season with a $100 discount if they act fast.

Fans of the NFL in the US will need to subscribe to the new Sunday Ticket package on YouTube if they want to follow Sunday games this season, after the platform won the exclusive rights to Sunday NFL games.

The good news is fans can now begin snatching up those subs, with the live streaming service offering discounted presale rates as of earlier this week.

Subscriptions for the Sunday Ticket start on presale at $249 for the entirety of the 2023-24 season. This price will increase by $100 when the presale ends on June 6th. The same applies to the Sunday Ticket and RedZone bundle, which is currently available for $289 on presale.

Subscribers to either of these YouTube packages will be able to watch all local, national and out-of-market games on the Sunday Ticket.

NFL deal a big coup for YouTube

YouTube agreed to pay a reported $2bn a season for the rights to air NFL Sunday games on their platform when they signed this huge new deal with the National Football league last December.

This agreement between the league and the online platform continues the trend of sports broadcasting edging closer and closer to an all streaming future.

It is also further evidence of a decreased dependency on linear TV partner DirecTV, with whom the NFL have been in partnership since 1994.

Susan Wojcicki, the CEO of YouTube, said of the deal:

“YouTube has long been a home for football fans, whether they’re streaming live games, keeping up with their home team, or watching the best plays in highlights.

“Through this expanded partnership with the NFL, viewers will now also be able to experience the game they love in compelling and innovative ways through YouTube TV or YouTube Primetime Channels. We’re excited to continue our work with the NFL to make YouTube a great place for sports lovers everywhere.”

YouTube also claims to have a bunch of special features in the works for NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers, including fantasy football elements, real time data and even a function to help avoid spoilers for those viewers tuning in late.

The 2023 NFL regular season kicks off September 7th, with presale subs closing on June 6th.
