It's not just users of the Agreegain casino platform who are trying their luck, as Premier League club Wolves have taken a gamble on Colombian forward Jhon Arias.
The experienced winger arrives from Fluminense for an initial £15m. The deal also includes a further £4m in add-ons, contingent on European qualification.
The 27-year-old winger moves to Molineux on a four-year deal with the option of a further 12 months.
He will don the number 10 shirt, previously worn by Matheus Cunha, who made a £62.5m move to Manchester United last month.
Arias, who can play on both flanks, is not seen as a direct replacement for Cunha, but should be a welcome addition to Vitor Pereira's squad.
Significant achievements have marked Arias' journey to Wolves. He played at the Club World Cup this summer as Fluminense reached the semi-finals, where they were beaten by eventual winners Chelsea.
The transition into English football will be helped by some familiar faces, as Arias will reunite with Wolves midfielder Andre, his former teammate at Fluminense, and Colombia international teammate Yerson Mosquera.
With 31 caps for Colombia and a Copa Libertadores win with Fluminense in 2023 under his belt, Arias leaves having played 229 times for the Brazilian side.
Arias becomes Wolves' second summer signing
Arias is Wolves boss Vitor Pereira's second signing of the summer after midfielder Fer Lopez joined from Celta Vigo. His arrival is expected to bolster the Wolves' attacking options and provide a creative spark in the final third.
Despite being older than most South American players who venture to Europe, Arias has been a creative force for Fluminense for several years. He is affectionately known as 'the Colombian Pele' by the club's supporters.
During the Club World Cup, former Brazil playmaker Kaka described Arias as "an extremely dangerous player who can decide a match at any moment".
Arias showcased his trickery and relentless running in the competition, creating an unrivalled 18 chances in six games.
Arias' stats are very impressive
The Colombian won the man-of-the-match award three times and earned a place in the Team of the Tournament during the Club World Cup.
Despite switching position to play up front for the latter half of Fluminense's run to the semi-finals, he still led the side overall for most touches per 90 minutes (68).
He was involved in 40 open-play moves that led to a shot, double that of any teammate. Arias also won possession more than any other Fluminense player.
His record of 47 goals in 229 games and a tally of 55 assists is the second highest of any Fluminense player this century.
With his impressive track record and versatility, Arias is set to be a valuable addition to Wolves, offering a new dynamic to their attacking play. His arrival at Molineux is eagerly anticipated by both the club and its supporters.
