Tottenham Hotspur striker, Dominic Solanke, has recently undergone minor surgery to address an ongoing ankle issue. The 28-year-old England striker was absent from training on Monday ahead of the Champions League fixture against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt.

Solanke last played for Spurs on August 23 in a match against Manchester City. He had been grappling with an ankle issue that caused him to miss most of the pre-season. However, it seemed as though the problem had been resolved by early August when he participated in games against Paris St-Germain, Burnley and Manchester City.

Tottenham manager, Dominic Solanke, said:

"Dom has got that ankle issue that's been bothering him for a little while, so now we've decided to make a minor surgery,"

"It's a small procedure, so that will mean he is not ready [for Bodo/Glimt] and of course Leeds [on Saturday] as well. We'll have more news about a time frame after the international break, but I don't expect it to be long."

When asked if the club could have opted for surgery sooner, Frank responded: "No, I think you can look at it two ways. That is the easy answer but it is not that easy because if we knew we could have done the surgery a month ago, we probably would have done it." He further added that they dealt with Solanke's injury in what they believed was the best way possible at that time and emphasized that no one generally prefers surgical intervention.

Spurs' current standing

Despite this setback with Solanke’s health condition, Tottenham has managed to maintain a strong position in their league standings. They currently sit fourth in Premier League having secured 11 points from their opening six matches. In addition to this impressive performance domestically, they are also through to the last 16 of Carabao Cup and celebrated a victory over Villarreal (1-0) in their first Champions League game of this season.

As sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts keep a close eye on these developments within Tottenham Hotspur’s team dynamics; there is no doubt that Solanke’s recovery will be eagerly anticipated given his significant contributions so far.

While injuries are an unfortunate part of the sporting world, they also provide opportunities for other players to step up and shine. As Solanke recovers from his surgery, it will be interesting to see how Tottenham navigates this temporary loss and continues their strong performance in the ongoing season.
