The popular Welcome to Wrexham series has returned for its second season. The show's return has already generated a lot of buzz since its first episode was released on September 13th.
In 2020 Hollywood star Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds dramatically acquired the English club Wrexham AFC, founded in 1864, with wild ambition to rehabilitate the third-oldest professional association football team in the world.
The season one of the series was released in August 2022. This series covered both the team's on-field and off-field journey in the National League season 2021-22. The series was a big hit, with a high demand for a second season.
On July 21, 2023, the UK release date for the second season was announced after months of speculation.
What to expect
Taking up the storyline from the previous season, Welcome to Wrexham season two will continue where it left off. The season will cover their promotion from National League to League Two as well as their dream run in the FA Cup.
The drama will extend off the pitch with Hollywood stars such as Paul Rudd and Will Ferrel appearing at team matches. Reynolds and McElhenney are again the focus of attention in the trailer, as they are shown to be having difficulties managing finances.
The first season of Welcome to Wrexham had 18 episodes, but season 2 is considerably shorter, with only 6 episodes.

The first episode of the series was released on Disney+ on 13th September 2023 at 8 a.m. for UK viewers on Disney+. The rest of the episodes will be released on Wednesdays every week on Disney+ in batches in the UK.
