UEFA is looking for a broadcaster for the 2024-27 cycle period

The media rights for the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League in Brazil and Latin America are up for grabs with an invitation of tender to be released for broadcasters.

There is a report that UEFA will be inviting bids for the cycle period of UEFA competitions from 2024 to 27. The rights of competition in Brazil are currently held by ESPN, SBT, and TV Cultura.

UEFA competitions are likely to have many competitors in the market, meaning that the new player of the media rights of the competition will likely spend a lot of money.

Several streaming platforms, such as DAZN and Amazon Prime, have also been reported to be interested in taking part in the tender as they are looking to expand their market in Latin America and Brazil.

Bids are expected to be lodged later this month, with the winners to be announced next month.

ESPN network is also looking to retain rights

The UEFA club competitions - the Europa League, Champions League and Conference League - are the epitome of competitions and generate the largest portion of revenues and TRPs for any broadcast network.

There is also the possibility that there will be different broadcasters for different competitions during the process because of the differences in stature between the three competitions as well.

Apart from the boarding of a new broadcaster, ESPN has a huge chance of retaining its rights since they have been a huge player on Latin American and Brazilian networks for years.

The Champions League games are the biggest seller around the world, so it will be interesting to see how maths will play out after the Latin American and Brazilian media deal.
