The Jason Sudeikis-fronted show has been a huge success globally for Apple TV+

Fans of the popular show, Ted Lasso, have a reason to rejoice as there are growing rumours about the beloved series returning for more seasons. Jason Sudeikis, who stars as the affable titular character, is reportedly preparing to return to his iconic role.

Since wrapping up its third season in May 2023, speculation about the show’s future has been rife as the season ended on a heartwarming note with Ted returning to the United States after a memorable stint as coach of Premier League club AFC Richmond. Despite what seemed like a natural conclusion to the series, fans have been clamouring for more.

Warner Bros, according to reports, has taken up contract options on three of the show’s main characters hinting at a possible continuation of this much-loved series. However, any revival would require Sudeikis' approval since he also serves as one of its writers.

The return for a fourth season largely depends on budget approval and scheduling conflicts with actors whose contracts may have lapsed and are now involved in other projects. If everything aligns perfectly though, production could begin as early as 2025.

However, there is no official confirmation about the show's return yet. Casting schedules and budget considerations will play key roles in determining if and when filming will resume.

Several Ted Lasso cast members including Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Welton) and Juno Temple (Keeley Jones) expressed their excitement over potential future seasons.

Lloyd Griffith, who plays an attending sports journalist at Ted Lasso's press conferences, shared his hopes for multiple future seasons.

Ted Lasso star, Lloyd Griffith, said:

“I’m praying for a series four, five, and six because it’s the dreamiest gig."

“I’m a tiny little part in this huge machine, but everyone was as lovely as they were on screen. We’d done the table read and it was great – Nick Mohammed had everyone in stitches – but I guess no one really knew what success was around the corner. People love Ted Lasso because it’s such a warm, fuzzy show, and being on set was exactly the same. We were lucky that we were able to film during Covid."

Since its debut, Ted Lasso has captured viewers' hearts worldwide with its humor, emotional depth, and feel-good storytelling. Griffith's fond recollections of filming reflect this broader appeal.

While there is no script for a potential fourth season of the Apple TV smash-hit yet, the stars and fans alike are buzzing with excitement over the possibility. Although there is no concrete plan in place currently, the enthusiasm and rumours alone have reignited hope for more seasons.

While nothing is set in stone regarding future seasons of Ted Lasso just yet, fans can hold onto hope that their favourite characters may return to continue AFC Richmond’s adventures.
