Sportdigital, the German sports-focused broadcaster, has successfully renewed its long-standing rights deal for Dutch soccer’s top-tier Eredivisie. The extension will ensure that the dedicated Sportdigital Fussball pay-TV channel continues to broadcast every Eredivisie match across all 34 rounds each season for another three seasons.
Sportdigital has held the broadcasting rights for Eredivisie matches in Germany since the 2010-11 campaign, making it their longest-running rights contract. This renewal signifies a decade-long partnership between Sportdigital and Eredivisie, highlighting their shared commitment to bringing high-quality football content to fans.
Bendix Eisermann, managing director of Sportdigital, said:
“The Eredivisie is part of Sportdigital’s DNA. For 15 years now, we have been achieving very good audience figures with the Dutch league, the cup, and the Super Cup. We are looking forward to another three years with the attractive perennial favourite of our football programme.”
More than just league matches
In addition to league matches, this deal also includes rights to show other significant Dutch football events. Fans can look forward to watching both the domestic KNVB Cup competition and the Dutch Super Cup until the end of the 2027-28 season on Sportdigital Fussball.
The renewal with Eredivisie isn't Sportdigital's only recent acquisition. Last month saw them renewing their deal with Poland’s top-flight Ekstraklasa for two more seasons. Their soccer portfolio is quite diverse and impressive as it also includes leagues such as Portugal's Primeira Liga, Spain’s Copa del Rey, North America’s MLS (Major League Soccer), Japan's J.League, Scotland's Premiership and AFC Champions League.
Wide availability in DACH region
Sportdigital Fussball operates round-the-clock providing non-stop football action from around the globe. The channel is widely available in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) through platforms such as Sky Deutschland, Vodafone, Magenta V, and Zattoo. This wide availability ensures that football fans in these regions can enjoy their favorite matches without any interruptions.
Sportdigital's renewal of Eredivisie rights until 2027-28 is a testament to its commitment to providing high-quality soccer content to its viewers. With an expanding portfolio and wide availability across multiple platforms in the DACH region, Sportdigital continues to be a leading choice for soccer enthusiasts.
