The new Manchester United part-owner has reportedly done an assessment at club

Manchester United part-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has recently expressed his dissatisfaction with the club’s facilities. This comes after he and his company INEOS took control of Manchester United's sporting operations earlier this year. The petrochemical billionaire had promised to bring about significant changes at the club, sparking hope among fans that he would restore the team to its former glory.

Since Ratcliffe's arrival, there have been noticeable improvements in the team structure. Key appointments have been made including Omar Berrada as CEO, Dan Ashworth potentially becoming Technical Director and Jason Wilcox slated to take up the role of Sporting Director in due course.

These strategic moves are expected to make a significant impact on the club’s competitiveness. However, according to Ratcliffe, there is another area that requires urgent attention - Manchester United's facilities.

Club facilities important for overall growth

Following a recent visit to Carrington - home of Manchester United’s training grounds - Sir Jim Ratcliffe was far from impressed with what he saw. According to reports from The Athletic, he sent out an email shortly after his visit expressing his disappointment particularly with regards to the state of their IT department which he described as ‘a disgrace’.

Ratcliffe also pointed out that locker facilities for U-18 and U-21 teams were subpar and not up-to-standard for both INEOS and Manchester United. His comments must have come as quite a shock at Old Trafford.

While these criticisms may seem harsh initially, they reflect Ratcliffe’s commitment towards improving every aspect of Manchester United – both on and off pitch. He has already begun addressing issues within the club infrastructure which will undoubtedly benefit them in future.

His continuous pursuit for improvement across all levels is indicative of his dedication towards steering Manchester United back onto its path towards success.

While Sir Jim Ratcliffe's verdict on the state of Manchester United facilities may have been unflattering, it is a necessary wake-up call for the club. His commitment to making changes and improving standards at every level will undoubtedly help steer Manchester United back in the right direction. As fans eagerly await more positive changes, it is clear that under Ratcliffe's leadership, the club is set for a promising future.
