Red Bull owned Austrian network to continue airing German Open and Stuttgart Open in Germany

Red Bull subsidiary ServusTV has agreed a deal with the WTA to continue providing coverage of the German Open and Stuttgart Open across Germany.

The Salzburg-based channel is available across Austria on terrestrial television and also Europe wide via satelite. What's more, German fans are able to access the ServusTV Deutschland free-to-air network and free live streaming platform ServusTV On, to follow of all the action from these two tennis tournaments.

The WTA 500 German Open will take place from Berlin between June 19 and 25 and every match will be available completely free across the terrestrial and live streaming options.

ServusTV consolidates its hold on domestic rights in Germany

This move sees ServusTV continue to hold exclusive, domestic, free-to-air rights to both the German Open and Stuttgart Open, which it has done since 2021.

On top of these tennis rights, ServusTV also hold various ice hockey, motor sport and football rights across Germany and Austria, including those to the Austrian Hockey League, the UEFA Champions League, Formula One and the World Rally Championship.

This renewal sees ServusTV hold onto a valuable asset as the fight between sports media rights holders grows more intense and the market more competitive with each passing year.

Sky Deutschland to air Wimbledon Grand Slam

The German Open and Stuttgart Open are often seen as practice tournaments for the big Wimbledon summer grand slam, which will take place between July 3 and 16 in London, and air exclusively on pay-TV provider Sky Deutschland.

The media giant will provide coverage across the German speaking DACH region after agreeing a multi-year contract with the competition last year.

Elsewhere, Sky will also become the place to watch most ATP and WTA tennis competitions across German speaking markets, as well as the UK, Italy and Ireland, from 2024 onwards.

The only exceptions to this deal will be the domestic rights to WTA and ATP tour events taking place within Germany, including the German Open and Stuttgart Open.

It is believed that Sky will create a dedicated tennis channel in each country to put its tennis coverage.
