The Man Utd legend has again backed Man City to win title again this season

TNT Sports pundit Rio Ferdinand has made his prediction for this season's Premier League title. Despite the current standings, Ferdinand firmly believes that Manchester City will retain their championship status.

At present, reigning champions Manchester City are trailing behind leaders Arsenal by a single point. However, Liverpool could potentially increase their lead to three points if they secure a victory against Sheffield United on Thursday night. When asked about his title prediction amidst these developments, Ferdinand stood by his initial choice - Pep Guardiola's team.

Ferdinand thinks remaining fixtures make City’s life easy

Ferdinand’s confidence in Manchester City stems from their upcoming fixtures which he describes as "pretty kind".

Rio Ferdinand, Manchester United legend, said:

“On paper, I think Man City have got the easier run-in. The experience is going to play a big part. I think Liverpool and those three away games at Fulham, Everton and West Ham are difficult.”

“I think Arsenal have the toughest run-in. I’ve said Man City from the beginning of the season and I continue to say it now.”

After securing a midweek victory over Aston Villa at Etihad Stadium, they are set to face Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon. In between two legs of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Real Madrid, they will host Luton Town at Etihad. Before April ends, Guardiola’s men will also compete against Brighton and Nottingham Forest away from home. Matches versus Wolves, Fulham and West Ham are also lined up ahead.

The postponed game against Tottenham is arguably the toughest fixture left for them but it hasn’t been rescheduled yet.

While there is still some uncertainty due to unscheduled matches like that with Tottenham Hotspur FC (which could prove challenging), Rio Ferdinand remains steadfast in his belief that Manchester City has what it takes to clinch another Premier League title. With an exciting line-up of matches ahead and teams like Arsenal and Liverpool hot on their heels though; only time will tell if his predictions hold true. For sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts, this season promises to be a thrilling ride.
