La Liga giants Real Madrid have announced the launch of their very own dedicated, direct-to-consumer live streaming service called RM Play.
RM Play will be available as an app on most mobile devices like phones, tablets and smart TVs.
It will post highlights of Real Madrid matches, as well as other original content, and will be available to Real Madrid fans around the world.
The record 14-time European champions have assured fans that the platform is already stocked with more than 700 hours of content. These videos are available in both Spanish and English.
As well as match highlights, RM Play will also include footage from press conferences, interviews and a 24-hour live stream of the RMTV linear television channel.
Archive footage on the app will allow Real madrid fans to watch highlights from any of Los Blancos' matches from across the last 15 years.
It will also feature original content in the form of series, movies and documentaries.
Real Madrid once again breaking new ground
The La Liga icons were at the forefront of the race to launch a dedicated television channel, alongside clubs like Barcelona, Manchester United and Liverpool, when they launched RMTV back in 1999.
They will once again be breaking new ground with this latest foray into technological advancement.
Barcelona recently confirmed that they will be closing down their linear channel Barca TV as they attempt to cut costs, with all available resources from that project shifting to their own OTT platform Barca TV+.
Now the two giants of Spanish football will battle it out to see who can generate the most subscriptions for their respective streaming services.
