The Spanish tactician is hopeful of De Bruyne playing a part in Arsenal’s match

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, remains hopeful that star player Kevin de Bruyne will be able to participate in the upcoming clash against Arsenal this weekend. This comes after De Bruyne suffered a groin injury during a midweek match against Inter Milan.

De Bruyne was part of the team that played in City's 0-0 Champions League draw against Serie A side Inter Milan on Wednesday. However, he picked up a groin problem which required medical attention before being substituted at half time. His injury has cast doubt over his participation in the crucial game against Arsenal at Etihad Stadium this Sunday - a game with potential significant implications for the Premier League title race.

Initially, Guardiola was unsure about the severity of De Bruyne's injury but has since expressed optimism that he could feature at some point during their match against title rivals Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola, Manchester City manager, said:

"He feels a little better today, Tomorrow we train and we will see. He could be [involved]."

Guardiola also provided news on others

In addition to De Bruyne’s uncertain status, Manchester City is also dealing with injuries to other key players. Defender Nathan Ake is currently out due to a thigh injury while Oscar Bobb remains sidelined after fracturing his leg before the start of the season.

However, there is some positive news for Man City fans as Phil Foden appears ready to play a full 90 minutes according to Guardiola. The team hopes they can line up both Foden and potentially De Bruyne for their match against Arsenal this weekend - an opportunity for them to extend their lead by five points over Mikel Arteta's side with a victory.

Guardiola’s team has had an impressive start so far this season with four wins from four matches and scoring 11 goals while only conceding three. They will be looking forward to maintaining their winning streak despite facing injury challenges.

Arsenal's lineup and challenges

On the other side, Arsenal will be welcoming back Declan Rice after his suspension during their 1-0 win in the Tottenham match. However, they will be missing key players such as Takehiro Tomiyasu, Oleksandr Zinchenko and new signing Mikel Merino due to injuries. They are also without their playmaker Martin Odegaard.

The upcoming clash between Manchester City and Arsenal is set to be a thrilling encounter with both teams facing significant challenges. The match could potentially have a significant impact on the Premier League title race.
