Chelsea are now leading race to secure Olise from Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace star player, Michael Olise, has reportedly reached a verbal agreement over personal terms with another Premier League club ahead of the summer transfer window. Despite missing several games due to injury in the 2023-24 season, the 22-year-old managed to score ten goals and provide six assists in just 19 Premier League games.

Olise was a standout performer for Crystal Palace this past season. His strong performance towards the end of the season was particularly notable following the arrival of new manager Oliver Glasner. Under Glasner's leadership, Olise helped lead Palace to victory in six out of their final seven games, securing a respectable tenth-place finish in the Premier League table.

Despite rumours linking both Olise and fellow attacker Eberechi Eze with big-money exits from Crystal Palace this summer, Glasner expressed confidence last month that both players would remain at Selhurst Park.

The never-ending list for Olise's signature

However, these assurances have not quelled speculation about potential moves for both players. Chelsea expressed interest in signing Olise twelve months ago. Manchester United is also reportedly interested. Arsenal is said to be leading the queue for his signature. Champions Manchester City along with Aston Villa and Newcastle United are believed to be monitoring his situation closely.

All these clubs recognise that acquiring such an exciting talent could significantly bolster their attacking options next season.

According to GIVEMESPORT reports, Chelsea appears now to be leading this race after verbally agreeing on personal terms with Michael Olise. The West Londoners are currently negotiating payment schedules regarding his £60m release clause with Crystal Palace officials.

While it seems like Chelsea is ahead at present, it should be noted that no deal has been finalized yet. Other interested parties could still rival Chelsea for Olise's signature.

Chelsea need rebuild in attack before new season

Chelsea is set to have a busy transfer window this summer under new boss Enzo Maresca. The club has already completed one signing, Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham, who will join on a free transfer when his contract expires on June 30.

However, the Blues may need to sell some of their first-team stars to balance their books and avoid breaching the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules. This comes as Christopher Nkunku attracts interest from the Saudi Pro League clubs. However, Chelsea will only consider selling him if they receive a 'huge offer' for the Frenchman.

While Michael Olise's future remains uncertain at this point in time, it is clear that he has become one of the most sought-after talents in English football following his impressive performances for Crystal Palace last season.
