The Red Devils have reportedly made contact with outcasted Federico Chiesa’s agent

Manchester United, along with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham, are reportedly in talks with the agent of Federico Chiesa. The Italian forward is seeking a move to the Premier League after stalling on contract negotiations with Juventus due to persistent injuries.

Chiesa has had a frustrating run of injury-plagued seasons but managed to score ten goals in 37 appearances for Juventus last season. As he enters the final year of his contract with Juventus, negotiations over a new deal have stalled. This has led his representative, Fali Ramadini, to initiate talks with four Premier League clubs about a potential move.

However, none of these clubs have made significant efforts yet to sign the 26-year-old winger. This leaves his future uncertain despite Manchester United's reported interest in reinforcing their wide attacking options.

A versatile forward seeking new challenges

Born in Genoa and developed through Fiorentina's academy since age ten, Chiesa enjoyed his breakthrough campaign during the 2016/17 season. After four successful seasons at I Viola, he moved to former Serie A champions Juventus in 2020 where he evolved into one of Italy's most dangerous attacking players.

Despite setbacks from injuries that have hindered his development at Turin side - labelled as "unstoppable" by Italy legend Giorgio Chiellini - Chiesa is keen on taking up new challenges according to reports. He is particularly interested in moving to the Premier League where clubs like United, Arsenal Chelsea and Spurs have expressed interest.

Given his contractual situation at Juventus who may be willing let him go for a cut-price rather than lose him for nothing next summer; Tottenham was heavily linked although this move seems doubtful as Chiesa demands Champions League football which they can't offer currently.

United's potential gain

While Manchester United may not be able to promise Champions League football, the prestige of the club and effective persuasion from their hierarchy could help them land the Euro 2021 star. With Marcus Rashford's form issues, Antony's continual under-performance and both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund lacking experience, adding a player of Chiesa's calibre could be hugely beneficial to Manchester United squad.

Before adding to their squad, United may need to sanction some major sales in order to reinvest. Scott McTominay is one such player who could garner a significant fee with several clubs monitoring his situation.

Fulham have emerged as likely suitors for the Scot valued at £40 million. They are reportedly 'convinced' they can sign him after completing a deal for Emile Smith Rowe. Fulham lost Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich earlier this summer and Marco Silva has identified McTominay as an apt replacement.
