The Reds have reportedly agreed deal to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili in summer 2025

Liverpool Football Club is set to make a significant addition to their squad by signing Giorgi Mamardashvili, the 21-cap Georgian international goalkeeper from Valencia. The club has reportedly agreed on a deal in principle that will see the La Liga goalkeeper join the team in the summer of 2025.

The move comes as Liverpool's current goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, becomes a potential target for Saudi Arabian clubs. Recognizing this possibility, Liverpool is planning ahead and securing Mamardashvili's services as a long-term acquisition.

Mamardashvili has shown impressive form in La Liga and could prove to be an excellent replacement for Becker. At just 23 years old, he brings youth and potential to the squad while also boasting considerable experience at an international level.

Exciting times ahead for Mamardashvili

Joining a prestigious club like Liverpool is undoubtedly an exciting prospect for any player. For Mamardashvili, it presents an opportunity not only to play at one of football’s highest levels but also compete for major trophies with one of England’s most successful clubs.

Despite this agreement in principle with Liverpool, Mamardashvili will remain contracted to Valencia until next summer due to Premier League rules prohibiting immediate loan moves after signing. As such, Valencia will send him on loan to Bournemouth this season before his official transfer.

Liverpool will pay £30 million towards securing his services while Bournemouth contributes another £4 million as a loan fee.

A promising future

Mamardashvili's talent and potential are undeniable; however replacing Alisson Becker - arguably one of the best goalkeepers in Premier League history - won't be easy task. With proper coaching and further experience though, there are high hopes that he can develop into a world-class player.

The deal is yet to be made official, but it seems all parties are satisfied with the arrangement. As sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts alike await further news, one thing is certain: Liverpool's future goalkeeping situation looks promising with Mamardashvili set to join their ranks.
