It all started with Manchester City’s caption which took dig at Liverpool’s tagline

In the world of football, rivalries are not just confined to the pitch. They often spill over into social media platforms as well. A recent example of this is Linda Pizzuti's playful jibe at Manchester City following their Premier League title win.

Linda Pizzuti and her husband John Henry, Liverpool FC owner, were present at Anfield for Jurgen Klopp's final game in charge of Liverpool. The Reds celebrated Klopp’s departure with a 2-0 victory over Wolves. It was an emotional afternoon for Liverpool supporters worldwide as they bid farewell to Klopp’s special reign with tributes pouring in from players, managers and pundits alike.

Meanwhile, Manchester City secured their fourth successive Premier League title with a 3-1 win over West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium.

Linda Pizzuti's Instagram retort

The banter began when Man City posted on their official account after their title victory: 'THIS MEANS FOUR', accompanied by several trophy emojis. This post was intended as a playful jab at Liverpool's tagline 'This Means More'. However, it didn't take long for Linda Pizzuti to respond via her Instagram story.

Pizzuti shared a screenshot of Man City's post and added captions that read: "A sincere congratulations to Man City - Premier League champions! So much respect for this tremendous achievement."

She continued: "Thanks for thinking of us on your special day [love heart emoji]."

Liverpool fans were quick to rally behind Pizzuti’s message. One supporter commented: "No way Man City won four prems in a row and they are still getting cooked by Linda."

While Cityzens may have won the Premier League title four times consecutively – an impressive feat indeed – it seems they couldn't quite win the social media battle against Linda Pizzuti. Their cheeky dig at Liverpool ended up backfiring, much to the amusement of Liverpool fans. This incident serves as a reminder that in football, victories are not just about trophies but also about maintaining a sense of humor and camaraderie off the pitch.
