Kerkez has represented Hungary 23 times internationally since his UEFA Nations League debut in September 2022

Liverpool Football Club has announced the successful signing of Milos Kerkez from AFC Bournemouth, marking another significant addition to their roster. The left-back player has agreed to a long-term contract with the Premier League champions after undergoing a medical at the AXA Training Centre.

Kerkez’s arrival comes hot on the heels of Florian Wirtz's announcement last Friday, making him Liverpool’s latest acquisition for this summer. In his first exclusive interview, an elated Kerkez expressed his happiness about joining the Reds.

Milos Kerkez, Liverpool player, said:

"It's a real honour for me, a privilege to come to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, [the] biggest club in England. I'm just really, really happy and excited. After this, I'll go home and in my hometown enjoy a few days, and then I can't really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season."

The 21-year-old Hungarian international moves to Anfield following two impressive seasons with Bournemouth. During his tenure there, he made 74 appearances and contributed significantly to the team's performance by scoring two goals and registering eight assists.

Career highlights and achievements

Kerkez began his senior-level career playing for Hungarian side ETO FC Gyor before earning a switch to AC Milan in 2021. His journey then led him to AZ Alkmaar in mid-2021-22 season where he made 57 appearances during his year-and-a-half stint in Netherlands.

Internationally, Kerkez has earned himself 23 caps for Hungary since making his debut in a UEFA Nations League match against Germany back in September 2022. In recognition of his talent and contribution on-field, Kerkez was shortlisted for the Men's PFA Young Player of Year award for 2024-25 season. He was also among finalists for prestigious Golden Boy award in 2023 - an accolade that recognises Europe’s best talent under age of 21.

With such an impressive track record behind him, both domestically and internationally, Kerkez is expected to bring a new dynamic to Liverpool FC. His addition to the team not only strengthens their defence but also adds depth and versatility to the squad. As sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts alike watch on, it will be interesting to see how this young talent shapes up in his new role at Anfield.
