Adeyemi is reportedly looking to reject Chelsea to stay at BVB Stadion Dortmund

Karim Adeyemi, the 22-year-old Borussia Dortmund winger, has reportedly expressed doubts about a potential move to Chelsea. This comes after the London-based club made an approach to sign him.

Adeyemi had a mixed campaign with Dortmund last season, scoring only five goals in 34 appearances. Despite this, he was a key player for his team and started on the left wing during their defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

His performances have not gone unnoticed by other clubs. In particular, Chelsea has shown interest and reportedly approached Adeyemi’s representatives to discuss a potential transfer.

Unreceptive to Stamford Bridge switch

However, according to MailOnline reports, Adeyemi is 'unreceptive' about joining Chelsea this summer. The report suggests that he is keen on continuing his participation in the Champions League - something which Chelsea cannot offer next season.

Interestingly enough, it was Adeyemi who scored the winning goal against Chelsea in February last year during a Champions League knockout tie's first leg. His performance earned him praise from teammate Jude Bellingham.

Jude Bellingham, Real Madrid player, said:

‘We are really confident when he gets the ball one on one,’

‘Not many players can stop him. He had a tough time coming here at the start, finding his feet, and now he’s flying.’

Busy transfer window for Chelsea

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Adeyemi's move, Chelsea has been quite active during this transfer window. The club has already made five significant signings this summer. Tosin Adarabioyo was the first to join from Fulham on a free transfer, followed by Marc Guiu who cost £5m from Barcelona.

Omari Kellyman was another notable addition, arriving in a £19m deal from Aston Villa. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall also joined the Blues in a £30m deal from Leicester City. Additionally, Chelsea secured an agreement with Brazilian club Palmeiras for their highly rated 17-year-old winger Estevao Willian. He is set to make his move to Stamford Bridge next summer after he turns 18.

In addition to these signings, they've also secured an agreement with Brazilian side Palmeiras for their highly rated 17-year-old winger Estevao Willian who will make the move to Stamford Bridge next summer after he turns 18.

While Chelsea's interest in Adeyemi is clear, it seems the player himself is not convinced about a move to London. His desire to continue playing in the Champions League could be a significant factor influencing his decision. As for Chelsea, they have been active in the transfer market and will likely continue their search for new talent as they prepare for the upcoming season.
