As the Super League crumbles, Real Madrid must get back to business on the pitch against mid table Cadiz

After a whirlwind 72 hours which saw the creation of a breakaway "super" league fronted by Real Madrid President Florentino Perez and its immediate demise, Zinedine Zidane must now draw his players attention back to matters on the pitch as they head to the Estadio Ramon de Carranza to face Cadiz CF. After a poor few months from city rivals Atletico in which they ceded a lot of ground in the fight for the La Liga title, Sunday was a pivotal moment. Madrid dropped points against Getafe and Simeone's men emphatically beat Eibar 5-0 to regain a three point lead at the top. Zidane's men need to win here to keep the pressure on and anything but a victory against a Cadiz team safe from relegation and nowhere near the European qualification places would be a major setback.
Preview: Cadiz vs Real Madrid
Despite their stalemate with Getafe, Los Blancos can draw on very recent good form in their wins over Barcelona in El Clasico and Liverpool in the Champions League. They will also take strength from the fact that they are still hugely in this title race, thanks to the previous slip ups of Atletico. Nacho and Casemiro will return from suspension and are likely to feature, and Eden Hazard has returned from injury but will probably be saved for the crucial Champions League tie against his old club Chelsea. Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy among others are still unavailable.
Cadiz are in reasonably good form, unbeaten in three, having secured back-to-back La Liga wins for the first time this season. They failed to make it three in a row when they drew 0-0 with fellow mid table side Celta de Vigo at the weekend. On the whole it's been a successful campaign for the newly promoted side in their first season in the top flight since 2006. Former Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo looks a good acquisition having contributed 7 goals in 28 appearances as he enters the twilight of his career. Survival looks all but certain for his side now. They will come into this game without Alberto Perea who is missing with a muscular injury but would have defender Juan Cala available after he was cleared of racially abusing Mouctar Diakhaby.
Cadiz are on a decent run but to beat the odds against a team like Madrid you need passion and drive, and usually you get that when you have something to play for. With relegation more or less out of the window, the Andaluz side probably won't be breaking their necks to stop Zidane's team who have everything to play for and much better players to do it.
Prediction: Cadiz 0-3 Real Madrid
