Grant Best joins Footballco to lead longform video expansion

Across all its platforms, Footballco's video content garners over a billion views each month

BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning producer and director, Grant Best, has been appointed by Footballco to lead its expansion into longform video. This move marks a significant step for the company as it seeks to diversify its content offerings and reach a wider audience.

Best will be working across all of Footballco's global brands. These include GOAL, Kooora (Middle East), Calciomercato (Italy), Voetbalzone (Netherlands), and Spox (Germany). The company's portfolio also features the football culture brand MUNDIAL and women’s football platform INDIVISA.

Footballco's video content is viewed more than one billion times each month across its platforms. Its content includes fan-focused brands such as Front Three and Fanzone in the UK, along with similar intellectual properties in international markets like Italy’s 1vs1 and Middle East’s Yalla GOAL.

New role at Footballco

In his new role at Footballco, Best will concentrate on developing new premium long-form video projects. He will also oversee talent-led productions as an executive producer. His work will be instrumental in shaping the future direction of the company's content strategy.

Best will report directly to James Lamon, EVP of Content and Operations at Footballco.

Grant Best brings a wealth of experience from his illustrious career in television production. He received a BAFTA for his work on "Rio Ferdinand: Being Mum & Dad" aired on BBC1 One. Additionally, he won a Sports Emmy for his contribution to ESPN/Disney/ABC’s World Cup coverage. His other notable works include "Floodlights" (BBC 1); Ronaldo Nazário’s World Cup story: "O Fenômeno" produced by DAZN/Globo/BBC; Sylvester Stallone’s "One Night" (DAZN); and Eva Longoria’s "La Guerra Civil", which premiered at Sundance.

The addition of Grant Best to the Footballco team signifies a promising future for the company's longform video content.
