The Liverpool forward’s eSports team Luna has signed deal with FC Porto

Liverpool striker Diogo Jota, a prominent figure in the gaming world, has recently agreed on a deal with one of his former clubs, FC Porto. This collaboration is set to make waves in the entertainment space and further solidify Jota's position within eSports.

Jota has always been passionate about gaming. His interest led him to establish his own eSports team Luna, which initially started as Diogo Jota eSPorts and Galaxy Racer before merging into one entity. Luna competes in popular games such as EAFC, DOTA 2 and Rocket League.

The Liverpool forward's latest move involves partnering his team Luna with FC Porto - a club where he spent a year on loan during 2016/17 season. This strategic alliance signifies Jota's clear intent to expand his influence within the eSports industry even further.

FC Porto’s foray into eSports

FC Porto made its entry into the burgeoning field of eSports back in 2020. Since then, it has managed to secure several notable victories including two Men's FPF Virtual Football Portuguese Cups, three eLiga Portugal Cups (one men’s and two women’s), and one Men’s eLiga Portugal Super Cup.

FC Porto released statement:

"FC Porto already has a rich and successful history in eSports and we believe that this partnership we have now established will allow us to grow even more, cement our position nationally and internationally in an area in permanent development and, of course, help us fight for more victories and win more titles,"

"The eSports market is very important in the expansion of our brand with a very specific audience, but where many of our fans are. And, finally, it's always good when we can combine the interests of FC Porto with someone as special as Diogo, who already had a connection as a former athlete to this club."

This partnership with Luna is expected to bolster their presence within this rapidly growing sector even more.

Diogo Jota, Liverpool forward, said:

"It's a pride to join Luna Galaxy to a club with the history of FC Porto, which I had the honor of representing as an athlete, It is the right step for this project because we joined a club that is world famous for its will to win and this ambition is something that is also present in us since the day we started this adventure."

A win-win collaboration

This collaboration between Diogo Jota and FC Porto presents an exciting opportunity for both parties involved. For Luna, this partnership provides an avenue for increased visibility and potential growth within the competitive world of esports. On the other hand, for FC Porto it offers an opportunity to leverage off of Jota's popularity both as a footballer and gamer thereby enhancing their brand recognition globally.

This deal represents not just another business venture but rather a strategic move by both parties to further their interests in the eSports industry. It will be interesting to see how this partnership unfolds and what it means for the future of eSports. Whether you're a sports fan, an eSports enthusiast or a sports betting aficionado, this is certainly a development worth keeping an eye on.
