BeIN Sports, a leading international pay-TV broadcaster, has announced the extension of its exclusive deal covering rights to UEFA European club soccer competitions in the Middle East, North Africa (MENA), and several markets in Asia. The agreement extends for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons.
The deal encompasses four top European club soccer properties: men's and women's Champions League top-tier competitions, as well as the men's second-tier Europa League and third-tier Conference League. This announcement comes with only semi-finals and finals remaining of the 2024-25 UEFA club competitions.
The exclusive tie-up covers an extensive list of countries including Algeria, Bahrain, Chad, Djibouti, Egypt, Iran among others in MENA region; Hong Kong, Singapore Malaysia etc., in Asia. Additionally BeIN will cover UEFA club competition action in Indonesia and Philippines on a non-exclusive basis.
Mohammed Al-Subaie, BeIN MENA's chief executive, said:
"With UEFA’s new competition format living up to its promise and producing huge matches from matchday one, we are delighted that beIN will continue to bring this new era to our subscribers in MENA and Asia. beIN has been home to elite European club football for more than a decade now."
Strategic partnership with UC3
This extended deal was struck with UC3 - a joint venture set up by the UEFA governing body and the European Club Association. Last October saw a one-season deal for three UEFA men's club competitions covering MENA region along with Asian countries being unveiled for 2024-25 season.
Simultaneously an agreement was announced that BeIN would broadcast Women’s Champions League matches across these markets during this period too.
The Women’s Champions League will see a new competition format starting from season 2025-26 while all three men’s competitions have seen more teams added resulting in more games this season.
Key players from covered countries
Amongst covered countries are home nations of key players like Egypt’s Mohammed Salah who plays for English champions Liverpool, Morocco’s Ashraf Hakimi at French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain, and compatriot Brahim Diaz at last season's Champions League winners Real Madrid.
Qatar-based BeIN is one of the foremost soccer broadcasters across MENA and the Asian countries involved in this deal. The broadcaster is also active across markets such as France and Australia.
In recent activity, earlier this month, it extended its deal with the International Tennis Federation to continue showing men’s Davis Cup and women’s Billie Jean King Cup national team competitions exclusively across MENA (and Australia) through 2026.
