Amex becomes the official card of the Argentine national sides until 2026

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has announced a significant partnership with American Express, naming it as the official card for the Argentina men’s senior, women’s senior, and youth national teams. This strategic alliance is set to last until 2026, aligning with the FIFA World Cup hosted by the US, Mexico, and Canada.

American Express will extend its support to the senior men’s, senior women’s, and youth teams throughout their national and international commitments. This partnership comes at a crucial time when the senior men’s team is preparing to defend the trophy they won in Qatar in December 2022 at the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

AFA President, Claudio Tapia, said:

“We are happy and proud to add a company like American Express to the projects of National Teams. After several years of growing in our sponsorship platform, it is important to continue adding the support of companies of this level."

“The results of the positioning of the AFA brand in different global markets are visible. We thank American Express for the trust and work done to achieve this great agreement. It will undoubtedly be a successful partnership for both.”

Exclusive benefits for American Express cardholders

The partnership between AFA and American Express is not just a corporate alliance but also brings a host of exclusive benefits for American Express cardholders. Members with an American Express Card issued in the Americas will enjoy early access to tickets and preferential seats at all Argentina national games hosted in the country.

Additional benefits for cardholders include selected experiences such as meet and greets with players, training session visits, and entry into autographed merchandise raffles. These exclusive perks aim to enhance the overall experience for football fans and create a deeper connection between them and their favorite teams.

American Express Argentina President and General Manager, Henry Seeber, said:

“This new sponsorship allows us to bring Card Members closer to the sports they love and connect with one their passions, Argentine Football."

“We continue to find ways to provide great access and experiences for Card Members, making sports better when you’re with American Express.”

American Express also the current stadium sponsors of Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion.

American Express is the latest in a series of sponsorship deals secured by the AFA this year. The football federation is capitalizing on the momentum of its national teams, particularly since the men’s senior team lifted their third world cup.

Amex deal latest in a string of agreements with the AFA this year

Earlier this year, the AFA signed a partnership deal with forex broker XTrend, making it a regional sponsor of the country’s national team. In a bid to enhance the support it holds in India, the AFA also secured a deal with Xiaomi India. These strategic partnerships reflect the AFA's commitment to expanding its global footprint and enhancing the support for its national teams.

The partnership between the AFA and American Express is a significant step forward for both entities. It not only strengthens the financial support for the national teams but also provides exclusive benefits for American Express cardholders, thereby fostering a stronger connection between fans and the teams.

As the AFA continues to secure more sponsorship deals, it is clear that the federation is committed to leveraging the success of its teams to build a stronger global presence.
