Pep Guardiola, the renowned football manager who led Manchester City to numerous victories, will be the focus of a new four-part documentary series on Amazon Prime Video. The series will cover his final two seasons with the club and is set to air this summer in the UK and Ireland. Guardiola, 55, stepped down as Man City manager at the end of last season after a decade-long tenure that saw him win an impressive total of 20 trophies. His departure marks an end to one of English football's most successful eras.
The upcoming documentary is part of City's 'Together' series and represents a multi-million-pound agreement - a significant increase from their Netflix deal two years ago. Produced by in-house agency City Studios, this latest installment promises to provide fans with an "ultimate account" of Guardiola's emotional farewell. It aims to capture not just his goodbye but also the emotions surrounding the departures of club icons Kevin de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and John Stones.
Despite experiencing a disappointing 2024-25 season without securing any major trophy wins, Manchester City bounced back in style last season by clinching both FA Cup and Carabao Cup titles at Wembley Stadium.
Previous collaborations with Amazon Prime
This isn't Manchester City’s first collaboration with Amazon Prime. In 2017, they signed a deal worth more than £10m for the 'All or Nothing' franchise which featured other prominent clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham.
Gavin Johnson, media director at City Football Group, said:
"We are incredibly proud to be announcing this documentary series that offers a new insight to Manchester City and surpasses the scale of other documentaries we have done before."
The upcoming documentary promises sports fans an intimate look into one of English football’s most influential figures during his final years at Manchester City. As such it is expected to be well-received by both sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts alike who are keen on gaining insights into team dynamics behind closed doors. The series will not only serve as a tribute to Guardiola's successful tenure at Manchester City but also provide an in-depth look into the emotional farewells of several club icons. It is set to be a must-watch for all football enthusiasts, offering a unique behind-the-scenes perspective on one of English football's most successful eras.
