The Hammers will hope to maintain their 100% record in Europa League competition this season when they welcome Belgian side Genk to the London Stadium. David Moyes' team have so far enjoyed back-to-back 2-0 victories over somewhat accomplished opposition in Dinamo Zagreb and Rapid Vienna. Genk will pose a similar challenge in a quite evenly matched Group H but without doubt the Premier League side will go into this one as favourites. A 1-0 win over Everton at the weekend left them 7th in the Premier League and just five points off the top after another stellar start to the season for Declan Rice and his teammates.
Genk are in slightly worse form. They've lost three on the bounce, including their last Europa League contest in which they went down to 10 men and were dispatched comfortably 3-0 by Dinamo Zagreb. They followed that up with a 3-2 away loss against Eupen, despite the hosts having one player sent off in that game, and a 2-0 away loss against Charleroi last time out. Their earlier domestic form means that it's by no means a crisis at Genk as they are currently sixth in the Belgian Pro League table and just five points behind surprise leaders Union Saint-Gilloise.
Vladimir Coufal and Ryan Fredericks both remain doubtful to start at right back for West Ham, meaning Ben Johnson should retain his place. Daniel Munoz, the man who was red carded against Zagreb, will of course be missing from the Genk backline but besides that there are no other notable absentees from either squad.
Genk will not be easy to beat but if West Ham play to their ability and respect their opponents, they are fully expected to come out with all three points and more or less guarantee their safe passage into the next round of the UEFA Europa League.
