The pick of the bunch in the EFL Championship this weekend is one of the two West London Derbies playing out on Saturday, between Fulham and Queens Park Rangers. The teams are very evenly matched with only two points separated them in the league and Fulham only one place above their local rivals. Mark Warburton is probably the more pleased of the two managers as QPR haven't finished in the top six since they were last promoted in 2014. A playoff run wouldn't have been out of the question in pre-season but their start should be viewed as a very positive one indeed. Fulham are two points off the automatic promotion spots but this is no less than Marco Silva and Fulham fans would have expected.
After a very good start to their campaign, Fulham have lost three of their last six, including a humbling 4-1 defeat away at title rivals Coventry last time out. QPR on the other hand bounced back from three straight league defeats with wins over Birmingham and Preston and also knocked Everton out of the EFL Cup on penalties. Form wise, this meeting slightly favours the visitors but with emotions running high and a packed crowd at Craven Cottage, truly anything can happen in a derby.
Neither side has any real injury issues to contend with but expect both coaches to rotate a little bit. Fulham certainly possess the greatest goal threat in the league's top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic. The Serb absolutely loves playing in the Championship and has already netted 10 in 11 appearances. To add a little bit of spice to an already red hot fixture, no side in the division has scored more than these two. Curse of the commentator be damned, this has goal fest written all over it.
