The cost of TV and streaming subscriptions for following the world's most popular football fluctuates regularly. We compile our Premier League Price Index to keep you informed about how much it costs to watch the English top flight around the globe, and now we'd like to tell you what's changed.

At the top of the index, there has been some movement. Despite the United Kingdom being the home of the EPL, it is no longer the most expensive country to follow the Premier League. That distinction now goes to nearby Ireland. The Emerald Isle has leapfrogged the UK into first place, with fans now required to pay the equivalent of a whopping £635 to watch their favourite clubs compete.

Irish fans must pay for expensive long-term packages with legacy sports media brands Sky Sports and TNT Sports to get access to as many Premier League games as possible. The price of these combined deals has gone up by almost £100 for those living in the Republic of Ireland.

The situation in the UK is largely the same. Sky Sports and TNT Sports also hold the lion's share of the rights, but Amazon Prime Video continue to hold two game weeks. Brits must fork out around £625 in subscriptions. That's down by around £30 on last season.

Wealthy Nordic states Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark remain near the top of the list, with only slight fluctuations up or down in price for each.

One huge change has seen the introduction of Thailand into the top 10. The cost of accessing the Premier League on TrueVisions NOW has gone from around £88 a year to £479 a year.

In the middle of the pack, countries like France, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong continue to get good deals when considering their impressive GDPs, with all between 1/3 and 1/2 what the Brits and Irish are paying.

There has been some more significant movement further down the index.

Colombia is the new cheapest country on the list to watch Premier League football, taking the place of India. Fans in the Latin American country can pay around £7 to watch the entire season.

India moves to second place but remains under £10 a season, closely followed by Hungary where fans pay just over £10.

Mexico moves from the bottom six of the index into the middle pack, as fans sadly pay the price for Premier League media rights switching hands from monthly subscriptions to the live streaming platform Paramount+ to lengthy and expensive bundles from old-media giants TNT Sports and Fox Sports.

The cost of following a full Premier League season for the Mexican people has increased from roughly £32 to £158.

Most other countries on the index saw business as usual, with some minor changes in subscription prices. With many of these rights deals signed to cover the 2022-2025 rights cycle, the rights have only changed hands in rare circumstances.

Therefore, the price changes are usually minimal and only down to the rights holder slightly increasing or decreasing their subscription costs year-on-year.

In many cases, especially those involved streamers like Viaplay and Star+, the cost of monthly subscriptions to the platforms remained the same, and therefore the status quo has continued.
