Spurs have been in the market to replace Harry Kane since the summer window, but they haven't found a match

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly vying for the signature of in-form Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke. The North London giants are in the market for a new striker after opting not to replace Harry Kane during the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, interest in Evan Ferguson has been put on hold.

Dominic Solanke, once struggling to make his mark at Liverpool, is now attracting attention from top-tier clubs due to his impressive performance with Bournemouth. Despite high expectations during his time at Chelsea, he failed to deliver at Anfield which led Liverpool to sell him off for £24 million in January 2019.

However, since joining Bournemouth and their subsequent drop into the EFL Championship, the 26-year-old has found his footing. He became an instrumental figure upon their return to Premier League last year and has further elevated his game this season.

Solanke's current stats stand at 12 goals and one assist from just 20 appearances across all competitions. His recent match-winning hat-trick in the Nottingham Forest match put him firmly under the spotlight of high-profile clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham.

To bring Solanke home, Tottenham must beat Arsenal

Arsenal is set on bolstering its attacking options next year as Gabriel Jesus hasn't been as prolific as expected. While Jesus remains a key player for them, they need more consistent goal scorers which brings Solanke into consideration.

On the other hand, Tottenham's interest in Solanke comes as no surprise given their lack of natural strikers apart from Alejo Veliz who is too young yet to be relied upon as first-choice striker. Although Evan Ferguson was previously targeted by the Spurs they have since cooled off that pursuit making room for potential move towards securing Solake’s services.

However both teams may face resistance from Bournemouth who are reportedly ready to block any offers for Solanke in the January transfer window. This could potentially delay Arsenal and Tottenham's plans until next summer.

Dominic Solanke's career resurgence has put him on the radar of top Premier League clubs. His consistent performances and goal-scoring prowess have made him a hot property in the transfer market. While both Arsenal and Tottenham are keen on securing his services, they may have to wait until next summer due to Bournemouth's reluctance to let go of their star player mid-season.
