TNT Sports, a leading UK pay-TV broadcaster, has successfully secured exclusive broadcasting rights to the Spanish soccer's Supercopa competition in the UK and Ireland. This agreement will cover the upcoming 2026, 2027, and 2028 editions of this four-team tournament.

The deal was negotiated with Spanish soccer's RFEF governing body ahead of the 2026 Supercopa. The competition was not broadcasted in the UK last year due to no broadcaster securing rights in that market. However, TNT Sports (previously BT Sport) had aired the Supercopa during the 2021-22 season.

The upcoming editions of this mini-tournament will once again be held in Saudi Arabia. The opening semi-final will see Barcelona - last season’s LaLiga and Copa del Rey winners - face off against Athletic Club. Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are set to compete on Thursday in another thrilling semi-final match.

Venue details

All games for these editions of Supercopa will take place at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium located in Jeddah. Saudi Arabia currently holds hosting rights for this mini-tournament until 2029 as part of an agreement made back in 2020 reportedly worth more than €40 million ($46.7 million) per year.

Last season's edition saw Barcelona emerge victorious over Real Madrid during a nail-biting final match. In addition to TNT sports securing broadcasting rights for UK and Ireland viewership, Spain’s top-flight LaLiga is held by Premier Sports and Disney+ streaming service within these regions as well.

Premier Sports also broadcasts Copa del Rey knockout cup competition following an extended agreement announced recently. Furthermore, RFEF has been successful at securing several other broadcast deals for future editions of Supercopa. These include agreements with L'Équipe in France, Sportdigital in Germany, and streaming platform Begin in Pakistan.
