The supercomputer has predicted Spurs to make it to the semi-finals

A supercomputer used by Grosvenor Sport, as reported by Football.London, has made a bold prediction about Tottenham Hotspur's performance in this year's Europa League. The AI technology forecasts that the Spurs will make it to the semifinals of the competition.

This season, the Europa League is adopting a new format. Instead of six group matches per team as was customary, each team will now participate in eight group matches - four at home and four away against different opponents.

The teams will be ranked on a singular league table with their positions determining whether they'll have to go through a playoff round or directly qualify for round sixteen pairings. This ranking also outlines their path to reach the final.

Tottenham’s predicted path

According to Grosvenor Sport’s AI predictions, Tottenham is expected to finish 11th in the Europa League table. This means that they would need to navigate an additional two-legged playoff round before advancing into later stages of competition.

Interestingly enough, Lyon is predicted by the supercomputer to top this unique league table while Porto and Lazio are backed up for second and third places respectively.

However, it doesn't end there for Spurs fans; according to these predictions, Tottenham will successfully emerge from playoffs only then face defeat at hands of Manchester United during semifinals. The Red Devils are predicted not just as potential spoilers for Spurs' journey but also as eventual champions who would triumph over Athletic Club Bilbao via penalties in grand finale.

A season full of surprises?

While these predictions provide an interesting perspective on how far Tottenham might progress in this year's Europa League under its new format; it should be noted that football often throws up surprises which even advanced AI cannot foresee accurately all times.

Therefore sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts should take these predictions as part of the fun and excitement that comes with the beautiful game.

Whether Tottenham will indeed reach the semifinals or Manchester United will emerge as champions is something only time (and matches) can tell. Until then, let's enjoy every moment of this thrilling season!
