Al-Hilal reportedly have made a lucrative offer of £100 million for the Portuguese midfielder

Former Manchester United player, Paul Scholes, has urged his old team to consider selling Bruno Fernandes to Al-Hilal. The Saudi Arabian club has made a lucrative offer of £100 million ($134.6 million) for the Portuguese midfielder, an amount that Scholes believes is too good to refuse.

Reports have recently surfaced indicating that 30-year-old Bruno Fernandes is seriously considering leaving Manchester United and joining Al-Hilal. This move would not only be financially beneficial but could also potentially resolve some tactical issues within the team.

Scholes shared his thoughts on the matter during the Overlap Fan Debate stating: "While he may not be everyone's cup of tea, Fernandes has been United's best player in recent seasons." He further added that despite being a crucial part of the team since joining from Sporting CP in 2020, it might be time for him to move on.

Paul Scholes, Manchester United legend, said:

"They are talking about £100m for him. Man United cannot say no to that.

“You know when you talk about this system as well, I know he has been brilliant and carried the team on his back but where does he play? What is his position? Do you see him as a number 10? Do you see him as a holding midfielder? He almost confuses the whole system because he doesn’t have that one position for him. I mean he has been brilliant don’t get me wrong. But when you’re getting £100m for him you snap their hand off and take it."

Look at Bruno Fernandes' performance

Since joining Manchester United from Sporting CP in 2020, Bruno Fernandes has proven himself as an invaluable asset. With a record of scoring 98 goals and providing 87 assists in just 290 games, he has played a significant role in keeping the Red Devils out of relegation trouble this season.

However, there are concerns about how well he fits into head coach Ruben Amorim's system. According to Scholes, there seems to be some confusion which could potentially affect overall team performance.

Dilemma facing Ruben Amorim

Despite these concerns and potential benefits from selling him off at such a high price tag, letting go of their best player isn't an easy decision for head coach Ruben Amorim or Manchester United as a whole. Fernandes' contract with Old Trafford runs until 2027, and his departure could significantly impact the team's dynamics.

After meetings between Fernandes' representatives and Al-Hilal officials, it remains uncertain whether the influential Portugal international will continue to be a United player next season. This situation presents a complex dilemma for Manchester United - weighing up the potential financial gain against the loss of one of their star players.

While Paul Scholes advocates for cashing in on Al-Hilal's £100m offer for Bruno Fernandes, only time will tell if Manchester United decides to take this route. Regardless of what happens, this situation is sure to keep sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts on their toes as they eagerly await the outcome.
