The new deal is reportedly worth $53.8 million annually

Hong Kong's pay-TV broadcaster, Now TV, owned by IT and telecommunications giant PCCW, has successfully retained its exclusive broadcast rights for English soccer’s top-tier league - the Premier League matches. This marks a continuation of a relationship that has spanned over 15 years.

The new three-year broadcast rights agreement will commence from the 2025-26 campaign and run through to the end of the 2027-28 season. This latest deal ensures that Now TV will continue to be the go-to platform for all Premier League fans in Hong Kong.

Now TV is set to showcase all 380 matches each season through various platforms. These include its linear TV service and Now Player smartphone and tablet apps. Additionally, matches will also be available on delay via Now TV’s video-on-demand service. This comprehensive coverage allows sports fans to catch their favorite teams in action whenever they want, wherever they are.

A long-standing partnership

The renewal of this partnership takes PCCW's stewardship of Premier League rights beyond an impressive 18 years. The league’s chief media officer Paul Molnar praised Now TV as a "dedicated and innovative partner" that consistently delivers high-quality coverage.

Now TV last renewed these coveted rights in early 2022 on another three-year deal running through till the end of the current 2024-25 season. GlobalData Sport estimated this deal's value at $53.8 million annually.

A strong portfolio of sports rights

In addition to football, Now TV holds an array of prominent sports broadcasting rights in Hong Kong. Most recently, it secured broadcast rights for tennis’ US Open grand slam for its upcoming 2024 edition.

Alongside a robust mix of tennis and golf events, this year saw an expansion in their soccer portfolio with exclusive broadcasting rights to the 2024 UEFA European Championship continental competition.

Now TV's latest deal with the Premier League reaffirms its position as a leading sports broadcaster in Hong Kong. The platform continues to provide fans with access to high-quality coverage of their favorite sports, making it an essential service for all sports enthusiasts and betting fans in the region.
