Rasmus Hojlund is expected to return to lineup sooner than expected

Manchester United fans may have a reason to rejoice as their star player, Rasmus Hojlund, could potentially return for the upcoming Premier League clash against Everton. The Denmark international has been sidelined due to a muscular problem and his absence has been felt in the team's recent performances.

Hojlund missed Manchester United's last three matches, which saw the Red Devils lose 2-1 to Fulham and 3-1 to Manchester City. These losses were significant setbacks in England’s top-flight league. A statement from Man United on February 23 indicated that Hojlund would be "out for two to three weeks". Head coach Erik ten Hag later clarified that the 21-year-old had only suffered "a small injury".

Hojlund’s return still under assessment from the medical team

If Hojlund recovers within two weeks, he could make his comeback in Saturday's Premier League game with Everton at Old Trafford. However, if a three-week recovery is required, he might return during FA Cup quarter-finals against Liverpool on March 17.

Before his injury setback, Hojlund was in excellent form scoring seven times and registering two assists in his last six Premier League appearances. His last appearance was against Luton Town on February 18 when he scored twice leading Ten Hag’s side to a victory at Kenilworth Road.

In light of Hojlund’s absence, Marcus Rashford played through the middle but found it challenging despite scoring against Man City during Sunday’s derby match.

Hojlund just started to find his groove in Premier League

Despite waiting until Boxing Day for his first goal in this season's Premier League campaign, Hojlund now boasts an impressive record of 13 goals and two assists from just 30 appearances since joining Man United.

While still chasing silverware in the FA Cup, Manchester United faces a daunting task to secure Champions League football for next term. Currently, they sit sixth in the Premier League table, six points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur and 11 points from fourth-placed Aston Villa.

Rasmus Hojlund's return could be a significant boost for Manchester United as they strive to improve their standing in both domestic and European competitions. His potential comeback is eagerly anticipated by fans and teammates alike.
