Juventus, the renowned Serie A club, is reportedly considering former Roma player Justin Kluivert as a potential addition to their team. This comes after his impressive performance at Bournemouth and could mark his return to Serie A.
Luciano Spalletti, the coach of Juventus, has been vocal about the lack of creativity linking his midfield with the attack in Turin. As a result, he has been seeking reinforcements in these areas. His first choice was Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid. However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, he has identified another potential target - Justin Kluivert.
Kluivert is no stranger to Serie A; he joined Roma from Ajax for €17.25m in 2018's summer transfer window. However, his stint with Roma was short-lived as he was loaned out to RB Leipzig in 2020 and later OGC Nice and Valencia before being sold off for €10.8m to Bournemouth in 2023. Despite facing challenges such as knee surgery that limited him only two goals in 21 games this season under coach Andoni Iraola's guidance at Bournemouth, Kluivert managed to flourish impressively on the field.
International recognition despite challenges
Despite having a challenging season due to injury issues requiring knee surgery earlier this year which limited him only two goals out of 21 games played this season under Coach Andoni Iraola’s guidance at Bournemouth; nonetheless he managed an impressive performance on field earning him recognition internationally too. He was included in the Netherlands 26-man squad for the World Cup held across USA, Canada and Mexico – an achievement that speaks volumes about his potential and resilience.
Interestingly, if Kluivert joins Juventus, he will be the third player in the team who is the son of a former Italian football star. He would join Francisco Conceicao and Khephren Thuram, adding another layer of legacy to the club's star-studded lineup.
Justin Kluivert's journey from Roma to Bournemouth has been marked by challenges and triumphs. His potential return to Serie A with Juventus could provide him with an opportunity for redemption and a chance to further prove his worth on one of football's biggest stages.
