FOX has recently announced its studio crews for the upcoming Copa America and Euro 2024 matches. With a busy schedule ahead, the network is set to provide comprehensive coverage of both competitions throughout the summer.
Despite games in both tournaments happening on the same days, kickoff times do not overlap. This allows FOX to provide sunrise-to-sunset coverage of soccer for fans in the United States. The extensive coverage begins on June 14 with Germany vs Scotland, marking the first game of Euro 2024.
The studio crews feature several familiar names from previous tournaments including those who worked on FOX’s coverage of Copa America in 2021 - a first for any channel under FOX's umbrella. The cast also boasts experience from covering World Cups since France's tournament in 2015.
In addition to seasoned broadcasters, several new faces will be making their debut this year. Among them is Giorgio Chiellini, a European-Championship-winning Italian from Euro 2020 who has retired with LAFC after his successful stint at that tournament.
Notable names joining Fox’s coverage
Chiellini joins other notable former players serving as analysts for FOX’s coverage such as Daniel Sturridge and Peter Schmeichel who are also making their debut this summer with Fox. These additions show that Fox aims to capture a wide array of audiences by bringing together talents known across different broadcasting platforms.
To avoid overworking its talent pool due to long working hours resulting from simultaneous broadcasts, there is minimal overlap between crew members assigned to cover each tournament.
