DAZN can now host eight concurrent matches from top leagues to its distribution partner

DAZN and LTN have announced an expansion of their existing partnership, aiming to enhance the delivery of live international football competitions to a wider audience in Germany. This collaboration will leverage LTN's advanced technology to streamline the distribution of live streams to betting outlets, commercial partner platforms, and residential subscribers.

A key aspect of this expanded partnership involves the integration of LTN's Lift/LTN Schedule solution. This powerful technology enables DAZN to automate the creation and playout of new digital linear channels, significantly streamlining the workflow. These channels are then delivered with low latency to iGameMedia, a leading distribution platform provider. From there, the live streams are seamlessly distributed to a network of betting outlets across Germany, including prominent names such as Tipico and Bet3000.

Expanded channel offerings

Furthermore, this partnership will introduce an additional pop-up linear channel, allowing DAZN to showcase up to eight concurrent matches from top European football leagues to its distribution partners. This expansion significantly enhances the viewing experience for both betting audiences and commercial partners, providing access to a wider range of live football action.

Bernd Brunner, DAZN head of linear channel, said:

“We serve sports fans wherever they are with engaging, unique live experiences. In-play wagering involves incredibly demanding streaming requirements — fans enjoying the game from their local betting shops need to know their stream is as close to real-time as possible. LTN enables low latency from ingest to playout and distribution — and they understand how to provide simple, scalable, reliable services that our team can operate from anywhere. We see LTN as a partner for growth that helps us increase value and reach more audiences with exceptional sports content.”

Chris Myers, LTN EVP chief revenue officer, said:

“DAZN spearheads innovative linear channel creation and distribution strategies to engage new audiences with fan-first streaming experiences on any platform. Our unique partnership helps DAZN cost-efficiently scale its business with an ultra-flexible, easy-to-operate system that brings the biggest live events to fast-growing audiences with low latency transmission. We’re proud to support DAZN’s journey as it expands across new markets and drives global viewership.”

Rights management and scalability

LTN's technology plays a crucial role in enabling DAZN to effectively manage complex rights agreements and ensure compliance with blackout requirements. This is particularly important when delivering concurrent live feeds to various platforms, including Amazon Prime Video subscribers.

Moreover, LTN's global IP network provides a robust and scalable infrastructure. This enables DAZN to flexibly spin up and manage unique versions of these channels to accommodate high-concurrency matchdays, ensuring a seamless and uninterrupted viewing experience for all subscribers.

Currently, DAZN delivers 11 low-latency live streaming channels to approximately 1,000 betting locations across Germany. The expanded partnership with LTN aims to further enhance this service by leveraging advanced technology and expanding the range of available content. This collaboration signifies a significant step forward for DAZN in its efforts to deliver a premium live sports streaming experience to a diverse audience in the German market.
