More free-to-air boxing for viewers in the UK

Channel 5, Ladbrokes and Wasserman boxing have joined hands to provide free coverage of a minimum of six fights this year.

The two companies partnered last year as well, covering as many as five bouts. The schedule for this time around starts with the coverage for the bout for the IBO World Lightweight championship on March 24 from the University of Bolton stadium. Lyndon Arthur will be going up against the current champ in the Lightweight category, Argentina’s Braian Nahuel Suarez. It will be followed up by Harlem Eubank and Christian Uruzquieta’s bout on March 31, at the London York Hall.

Wasserman head of global boxing Kalle Sauerland has promised that there will be many exciting bouts to look forward to, which will be available for free on Channel 5.

Ladbrokes is one of the world’s leading entertainment brands and we’re delighted to be working with them to bring first-class, free-to-air boxing to the British public. We have an action-packed schedule planned for 2023, that is going to see huge fights, big names, and upcoming stars all feature live and for free on Channel 5.

Kelly Rose, head of Brand Marketing at Ladbrokes has also confirmed that free-to-air boxing action will be provided to the British audience on Channel 5, with an exciting schedule said to be in place.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Wasserman Boxing bringing entertaining, top-drawer free-to-air fights on Channel 5 in 2023. It’s going to be an incredibly exciting year ahead and we can’t wait for the knockout action to get underway.”

Channel 5 have been making steady inroads in the boxing market in recent years and by the looks of it, it is to continue.
